I met Elisabeth during a Kalaripayat session she gave in Ghent. Kalariypayat is a rather spectacular ancient Indian martial art with sticks and swords. I was very impressed by the immense power with which she danced and fought with her performing partner. Later on, when I got to know her more closely, I saw this same strength and enthusiasm in her work with so called “problem” children. Elisabeth is one of the few people who can make a difference for these children. By making them move she can connect with them and help them express their feelings in a good way. Her way of seeing and doing things is certainly not the most easy way. But hey, who said creativity was easy?
